Another use for Probiotic Manor Farm Yogurt

Abomasal bloat is a relatively common health issue in young orphan lambs. It is caused by an overgrowth of gas-producing bacteria in the abomasum. It is thought this happens when lambs are allowed to drink too much, too quickly. Early intervention is critical, as once it starts, the process is very rapid. Signs include a swollen belly and a dull lamb. Often they will be reluctant to drink. The pressure of the bloated abomasum can cause heart/lung failure and, if not caught in time, the abomasum ruptures causing the lamb to die.
